During the pandemic, most sports activities and competitions were cancelled for Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children's Charities athletes, many of whom live with additional health risks. To keep them active and engaged, the Chicago Park District developed a series of weekly activities for families to safely attend. These included fishing, archery, miniature golf, and more. These were so popular that the program expanded to include field trips around the city and continues long after regular sports activities have resumed.
To market these, I developed a unified look combining colorful inviting photography, clear messaging, and branding.
I also developed an online calendar with registration links to make sign ups seamless, and created a social media schedule to share the activities on Facebook and Instagram, where we maintain a strong community with the athletes we are targeting.
We also routinely post photos and videos from the activities so that athletes and parents see that they are fun and accessible.
